June 24,2013

Hi everyone....

First off, I'm super glad that you all enjoyed my awkward picture. You should have see all the chapinazos that were laughing at me. But I pushed through the adversity and went hard as usual. Also I got an awesome package!!!!!! WHOOOOOO It really hit the spot. I was so happy to get the ensign with the conference talks. I love studying those. And also the beef jerky is always a good bonus haha. Hi chews and tootsie rolls. You know me!!! lolololol.

This week was another good week full of a lot of meetings so we didn't have a ton of time to work but we still got a lot done. We were supposed to baptize Wendy this weekend that passed but we couldn't because she didn't come to church but we're working super hard with her for this Sunday. It's her work that always kicks her in the butt haha. We had to all go to the huge worldwide meeting last night with all the leaders of the church and that was awesome. Jesus is coming soon and that's why all of this is happening right now. It's so awsome to be a missionary is these days. I'm loving it haha.

This Wednesday I will get my new companion NEW NEW NEW!!!!!! And don't worry, I'm only gonna kill him for these 12 weeks that we'll be together hahaha. It will be good. But it looks like I will be getting a gringisimo haha. There are 12 gringos coming in and 2 latinos so it's looking weird haha. President told us in a meeting that he doesn't like to call trainers that have less than a year in the mission. Let alone put a gringo with a gringo that doesn't even have a year haha. I might train Cody Sorenson haha because he enters this change WEIRDDDDD. The President assured us that we are called of God to do everything that we do in the mission and he puts more thought into his trainers than into his asistents. That made me feel really good. I know I can do whatever I need to do in the mission. It's awesome!!!!!!!!!

I love hearign from you guys every week. It really makes me feel so good and gives me a good boost every week to just kick butt all week. I had an awesome time with Elder Castro in this change. He is certainly interesting but he is great. We are working with a couple of peolpe that can be baptized soon. Milton, Erika, Wendy, Fam, Gabriela and Minor, Nancy, and Madelin. I'm hoping taht we can get them in the water during this training. BIOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM

I love you all! Can you believe that in a month I will be 20 years old? VIEJITOOOOOO lololol I love you so much and can't wait to hear from you soon. So happy for B town and jarom and my boy B tewey. PROUD PROUD PROUD!!!!!!!!!!!

Love Elder GOOOOPPPPPPSSSSS

Hi everyone....

This week we continued to go hard but not quite 90 lessons. I'm sorry to let you down....

I still haven't gotten the package but Elder Diaz doesn't miss a chance to tell me about it when he sees it every day in the office haha loser! But I'll get it this Friday. We have a conference with a Seventy.

I talked to President Brough yesterday and it looks like this next Wednesday, I'll be getting a straight up Newbie to be his trainer. I am super excited to be a trainer but a little nervous at the same time.  But i know that in the mission, everything that comes, is from God.

I'm doing really welll and it looks like I'll be in El Carmen for a couple months more! Blessed! We baptized Elias this weekend and that was AMAZING!!!! We had fought a lot with him and went hard. It was really rewarding and it was cool to see how prepared he really was for this wekk. Wendy went pure guatemalan and didn't show up at church and couldn't get baptized but this week we're hoping for it and praying like crazy!!!! Love the mission. It's seriously so awesome to be here.

Sorry it's short! Nothing much more really happened. Just amazing to be here helping people change their lives and watching my life change every day. I love you all so much and Dad HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!!!! Tell Gus that long distance relationships don't work!!!!! hahaha STUD.

Love you all, Elder Hanson

June 11

June 11, 2013

Hi everyone.....

I didn't get the package or anything but I should be getting it soon. Solo tengo que utilizar my cuello en la oficina con este chambonaso Elder Diaz lolol.

With Spanish, I feel like I'm about 90% there. I can say everything that I want to and I understand like 95% of everything. It's amazing to see this gift working. I've been so blessed with this. I am super thankful for this gift that My Heavenly Father has given me.

This week we went SUPER HARD. I decided that we needed to start to see some miracles, so I decided that we were going to wake up at 5 every morning to show the Lord that we were willing to do it all and make little sacrifices so that He can bless us. We had 90 lessons this week. I don't know how we did it but it was amazing. We had a lot of help from the Savior and the Holy Ghost. I just know there are so many people that are ready here and we need to find them. We are seeing miracles.

This week we had a great encounter in the street with a lady that I had passed over her name like 20 times in the area book (the book with all the registers of the investigators). Her name is Wendy and then we saw her in the street and my companion was like that's Wendy!!!! And I'm like HUH? So we went and contacted her and talked to her and she said that she wanted to go to church because she didn't have to work. She had had the missionaries teaching her for a long time and she knows that the church is true and she keeps all the commandments. She went to church and my companion almost died because she never went to church before, even when she didn't work. He said that was a miracle. Then we went to her house on Sunday night and we challenged her for baptism and she said that she'd do it if she could get work off. PLEASE PRAY FOR HER BY NAME!!!!! We need this miracle!

There's another man, Elias, I think I talked a little about him last week and he was going to get baptized this Sunday that just passed but at the last second he whimped out. That was really frustrating but then he told us that he will get baptized but not right now and not really far away. We are really putting the pressure on to be able to get him to the water this Sunday too. PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM TOO!!!!!!

My companion is a funny little dude. I'm pretty sure that he'll get moved this change and I hope that I'll be able to train and kill a newbie all the time haha this change has gone by soooooo fast. I am really learning to put the needs of other people in first place, something I really didn't learn how to do aat home. It's amazing how the mission changes lives.

A day in our life in EL CARMEN. The area is super super super hilly haha. We literally just run everywhere, up and down hills, because it's easier than walking really fast haha. It's a sweet area and I just asked for a water heater from the mission porque ya no aguanto lol. I love this area though. It's super cool and the members help us out a ton! I pee every 5 seconds haha. I don't sweat a fourth as much because it's kind of cold here and so the liquid that I take in doesn't exit in the same way now. It's raining almost every day here now and it is actually pretty nice. I love it here haha. On P day this week we went and played some basketball and soccer. In other words, we let the white boys win and then we let the latinos win haha. Then we went back to the house and got a sweeeetttttt nap in haha. Every morning I go hard with 3 eggs and a bowl of cereal and then a nice PB & J sandwich if I feel the need. It's good. Almost every night we make spaghetti and you know how I love spaghetti baby! Siempre mi panito lindo con mi cafesito, puro chapin. I'm gaining all the weight back that I lost in the coast! BOOM!!

Thanks for everything you guys do for me. Please pray for Wendy and Elias! We could really use these miracles!! I love you all so much! Have a great week!

OOOOOiiii!!!!!!

June 4, 2013

Hi everyone....

This week we sent super hard again and are looking at having some serious success in the next coming weeks. So stoked to be working so hard and to be able to be in this awesome area with such amazing people. I know that we are being blessed and we are seeing some serious miracles in these days because of our obedience and our diligence. It is so fun to know that we are actually doing what we need to be doing. You really notice the difference in your fun level when you're not doing what you need to be doing and when you are doing what you need to be doing. I feel like I'm getting really fidgity haha. I feel like if I'm not doing smething productive, I'm wasting time and I get uncomfortable haha. It is weird that it's like that right now, but that's just how it is.

I am really learning how to be patient and serve my companion a lot haha. I find myself paying for every single thing that he needs or wants. Dad always told me that that would be how it is but I didn't really believe him haha.  So that's the lesson I'm really trying to work on right now. I can't believe the time is going by so dang fast. This change is almost gonna be over and I'm gonna get a new companion soon haha CRAZY!

I had a question for dad.... When you talk to people in Spanish, do you speak in Tu or Vos or in Usted? I've always kind of wondered that haha.

This week I listened to a talk by that Troy Dunn guy that I had on my ipod and it was so awesome haha. It was the talk that is called Life is a Football Game. It was like a really cool version of the preexistence and how we were there with our Heavenly Father and how we waited in a locker room for a super long time up there in Heaven to get ready to come down here and how we watched everything happen down here on earth. How we were getting frustrated up there in the locker room and how we just wanted to get down there on the field, and with 3 seconds left in the game, Jesus threw us into the game and how this life right now is like the football game. It was freaking awesome.

I had a good week this week and we worked super hard. There is nothing more satisfying than a good hard worked week. I love you all and I am so thankful for you and all you do for me. Have a great week this week!! I LOVE YOU!!!

Love, Elder Hanson
