CHRISTMASSSSSSSS NOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTT

December 31, 2013 Hi everyone.... Elder Hanson here just killin it as usual OOOOOOOOiiiiiiii!!! On to the questions!!!!!!!! Questions: 1. Is Mena coming around? Yeah eerything there is good. We are getting along well. I-m just working on trying to get him to smile a little bit more. He works and stuff I can just never tell what is going on in his head. He-s like a serious military dude and it like scares people haha. But it-s fine for now. Nothing I can-t handle. 2. How was your mission Christmas fiesta? It was fine haha We really didn-t do anything at all. Just at a members house and eating my tamales and getting fat. And a ton of fireworks. Good night but not really much different haha 3. Where are you eating/living? We live in this SICKKKKK house right now. I-m loving it here haha. We eat with the Family Pablo. They are members since forever. I thought for sure you-d know them dad.... Do you do your own clothes, or does someone do them for you? Hermana Pablo washes the clothes. Not very well but she tries. I would try to wash some myself but it-s hard because I literally have no time at all in the night. 4. How much are you teaching? This week we had 65 lessons. I can pretty much teach wherever and whenever I want. That-s just how this country is. AWESOME 5. Are you meeting many Lamanitas? Mountain folk? Their Spanish is pretty funny, huh? THEY ARECRAZY!!! They don-t know how to speak spanish and when you try to talk to them and they don-t want anything, they just yell at you in Ka Chi Kel, a language that they speak here in Chimal 6. Did you get to Antigua yet? NOOOOOOOOO. I wanted to go yesterday but we can-t go if it isn-t an activity with the zone because it-s not in the zone. It sucks but we will be going on the 13th. I-m going to get some leather cases for my scriptures. Don-t be surprised when I take some money out of my account. Stoked about them. There-s a member that knows a lady from Antigua that makes them how you want them. I-m going to get some sick ones..... WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO weird week...... Christmas doesn-t really feel like Christmas here haha. There is no snow and so it-s just normal. I-m to thepoint where nothing makes me baggy so I just work like normal every day haha. I think I might be gaining a little weight because I never sweat here!! It sucks haha I-ll try to keep it down to the normal....if I can. We baptized all 3 of them!!!!! It was maybe the most worry free baptism that I-ve had in the whole mission. For once everything went as planned! And they all got dunkedddddddd!!!!!! We will have another one this weekend. Him name is Edgar Colindres and he-s freaking awesome!! He-s the husband of a less active that we are going to marry this Friday and this sunday is the baptism. We are being very blessed this change right now. It is soo good to see that all you need to do is be obedient and diligent and everything goes as planned. There was an earthquake a couple days ago....I was praying going to bed and the ground just started to shake. If I was from one of the churches down here, I totally would have taken that like some huge answer that everything that I am doing is correct hahaha. These people are crazy. But it actually was pretty cool. We got it done. Well cool experience....... Neri Muñoz, turns out that I do know him haha. He-s a less active that we-ve been trying to get back to church. He-s been going to last few sundays and He-s freaking awesome haha. I talked to him in church sunday and said, "my dad knows you" And he said "Yo lo sabia!" "I knew it! I knew that he was your dad beacuse of your last name." SOOOOOOOO sweet. I guess he has pictures of dad with him in his house. We are going over there this week to see what-s up over there. SEND ME THE PICTURES!!!! I WANT TO SEE THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!! I had some pretty freaky interviews this weekend haha. Interviews are either the most spiritual thing ever or they are the most freaky thing evewr haha. I love seeing first hand how someone can change their life and how you can feel if someone is telling you how they really feel or if they are doing it for another reason. It is so cool to be able to have the gift of discerning. Super cool. I seriously have nothing more to say. I-m doing well and everything is totally OOOOTTTTZZZZZZZ. I love life. I love you!!!

December 24, 2013 Hi everyone.... This week was a nice wild ride for me and my comp. GETTING IT DONE!!!!!!! Here are the questions.... Which zone are you in? We're in the Zone Chimaltenango!! They just split the zone a couple months ago because now there is a stake in Chimal and Antigua!!! KILLLLLLEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRR How many missionaries in the Tejar? It's just me and my comp in El Tejar. We get it done!! Who is the Branch President? It's Bishop Garcia. He lives in an area named Sumpango How many/who are you teaching? We are teaching like freaks haha. I just run around knocking doors and teaching member's friends. It's so fun. My comp gets a little bugged sometimes though..... Do the members help? Yeah the members are so awesome here. We have a lot of success teaching their friends. Have you gone to Chimal for meetings? Yeah. Right now I'm in Chimal in internet, but we come here like 3 times a week. For interviews and district meeting and p day Is "Cheveres" (the best hot dog in in the world) still alive? Yeah there are the little stands all over the street but we can't eat anything from the street. Asi que cuando me vengas a traer, vamos a comernos un Cheveres....OOOiiiiiii How much are you teaching? We are teaching about 9 lessons a day!! Getting crazy. They were having like 4 in the district a day and we've changed that quite drastically. MIRACLE CITY HERE IN THE PROMISED LANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the zone that baptizes less in the whole mission and we are about to go so crazy on the 29th. Me and my companion have 3 people that are going to get baptize this weekend and we're hoping that everything goes alright!!! Claudia Gonzalez is a lady that we found and she just goes to church and she is so awesome. She has had problems with practically everything that you can think of but we're hoping that everything can happen how it needs to in the interview. Javier and Juan Diego Carranza are some sick jovenes. They are so awesome. My second night we found them and from then on, they've done everythin that we've told them to. They will go down this week!!!! 3 Baptisms could get crazy!!! Doesn't happen here haha. We have right now in the district 11 set dates for this weekend and we're gonna get it done!!!! A ver que dice Dios va?? I'm loving it here. We're having a good time. My companion is good. Just a little hard because when I try to tell him something he doesn't really pay attencion. He keeps up with me most of the time. But we're going to have to work on some stuff this change. It is going to be a good one. Time goes by fast even when it seems like it's not going by fast. I got a record 7 packages on Thursday when we had the mission activity. THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! My companion and my district and my zone are very happy with you!!! SHARING IS CARING!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CANDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY LOVE BEEF JERKY!!!!!! I'm a little bit stoked for Christmas. I'm just gonna live it up CHAPIN STYLE!!!!! Last one here for a while and so I'm going to have to get it done right. 50 tamales and 20 glasses of ponche should get it done. Oh and maybe some pan frances..... I love this place haha. We are going to have so much fun haha. We also have permission to be out of the house until 12 30 and so that will be a crazy deal. With the phone call tomorrow, CALL ME AT 11 IN THE MORNING MY TIME!!! I'LL BE READY AND WAITING. If I don't answer, it's because I don't know. Just call me in like every 5 minutes until I answer. 40 minutes!!!!! We have to keep this obedience stuff up. Sucks I know but it will be good. Can't send pictures because the computer sucks!!!!!! I hope everyone has a great Christmas. It's going to be great. Let us remember who we are celebrating for and do it the way He would like it to be done. I love you all and am so thankful for everything. I LOVE YOUUUUUUU!!!!!! FELIZ NAVIDAD MUCHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

WHHHHHHAAAAAATTTTTT THHHHHEEEEEE FREEEEEAAAAAKKKK????!?!?!!?!!?!?!?!!?!?

Hi everyone... WOW I'm sitting here in internet and I am in complete shock an awe haha. This week for me has just been a straight up roller coaster ride. When they told me that I had changes, I wanted to cry. When I really left, I wanted to cry haha. On wednesday and Thursday I was so Area-sick and so companion-sick that all I did was walk faster and try to not think about it. Sunday was great and I had a good time. In this ward in the last year, they have had 3 baptisms, In Palin, we had over 100. We've got a lot of work to do. But right now, my heart is pumping and I can0t even keep my mind straight. I'M SOOOOOOO STOKED!!!!!!!! I can't even believe that Dad was here. FREAKING OUTTTTT!!! The people looking at me think I'm some kind of animal. First off I'm stoked in an internet, second, I'm mormon, Third, I'm Gringo lololo But ask me if i care!!! God knows us. I'm gonna see what I can do to be able to find these guys!! I seriously miss Elder Hintze so much haha. It sucks but now I know what needs to be going on. My comp is named Elder Mena. He's from Nicaragua and he is a stud. He is a recent convert of 2 years, about 7 months in the mission and he's a great guy. He's 26 years old and so it is a little weird when I have to be bossing him around or correcting him. But it is good. He seems good. It's just weird without Elder Hintze haha. I loved the girlfriend comparision that he made because its litterally like that. LOVEIT. We are doing great here. We've already seen miracles. We should have 3 baptisms this 29th and that will be awesome. The craziest thing about that is that I found them here with my comp. They weren't just left, ready baptisms. Super blessed. We had 12 investigators in church Sunday and that was awesome. Hadn't happened for a while haha. The ward is awesome. I'm gonna go around and see if I can find these people that dad left. Just like I said in my farewell talk, I'll see what I can do to clean up the mess of dad lololol. Didn't think it would be so literal!! I'm freezing my stuff off. It's so freaking cold. The great thing is that we have not one hot shower, but 2!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I fixed the other one yesterday and now it works!!!! Glad mom taught me how to clean the shower!!! LOVE YOU MOM!!!! I'm super stoked to be here though. I saw Elder Hernandez, mi patojo, and he is paying for his sins in Puerto San Jose!!!! He told me that when I left El Carmen, the baptized like 7 of the people that I had been teaching!! So awesome to hear about that. I love that kid haha. I love you all! I need to get to know the area a little bit better and then I'll let you know what the heck is going on. LOVE IT! I love you all. Thanks for everything. Have a great Christmas week!!!!

What?? SURPRISEEEEEEEE (Esquelito voice. Nacho libre)

Hello everyone.... Wait what? I'M LEAVING?????? NIOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hahahaha. They called and told me that I'm leaving and that Elder Hintze is staying and we couldn't believe it at all. No one even believes me haha. I'm bugged because it's a total surprise and I'm not ready to leave at all but it looks like I'm needed in another place!!!! I'm excited but nervous at the same time because I have no idea what is going to happen and where I'm going to go! I might be able to let you know soon because of some details that I will include in a second. Weird though. It's really the first time that I have a crazy change experience and I don't really know how to deal with it. So when Elder Hintze leaves, he'll have 6 months in this area. CRAZY!! No one ever has that much time here. But we had an awesome change this change. We baptized a full family and 6 people in total and we were super blessed the whole change. Me and Elder Hintze were expecting Elder Hintze to be out of this area this week and so for the last day of full work that we had together (Saturday) We put ourselves a super huge goal to have 20 lessons in the day. We got up an hour early and calculated out that it is about 2 lessons an hour. We left at 10 in the morning and just went freaking crazy haha. When we got back to the house, we were DRENCHED in sweat and couldn't even walk haha. But we had 22 lessons and 14 new investigators. It was one of the days for the history books. We were just running from lesson to lesson and planned a super crazy day on Friday night. Great day. I want to hear all about Elder Hintze's mission and stuff as he's out here but I can't email him. I'm giving him mom and dad's email and just do me the favor to forward the emails to me!! Thx lol. Also if you could in the next package, send me a couple of ties? Desperate need haha. Also mom or dad, I wanted to see if one of you could get me the house address of Elder Miller. The one that was in our area when I was getting ready to leave. I'd like to write him a letter... Well it's about that time to call my mom up on the phone and get that chat on. The deets go asi..... I don't know the phone nember where I'm going to be but I think that either Tomorrow or Thursday I'll be able to have a couple minutes on email and send that to you. I have only 40 minutes to talk! So we have to keep it short. You will call me on the 25 preferibly in the morning. You guys just tell me an hour and I'll let you know on Wednesday or Thursday when it will be haha. Stoked for Christmas but not even that much haha. Last year I was so baggy but this year it's like whatevs lolololol. Not that I don't love you.... I'm a little bit sad and weirded out but I know that the Lord has a plan for all of us and I know that He knows what's up. I'm excited though. It will be good. I'll let you know soon enough what the heck is going on!!! I love you all!!!! Have a great week!!

OOOOOOOOOOiiiiiiiiiiii ANDALE

December 3, 2013 Hi everyone...... Well this weeeeeekkkkkkk was AWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEESOMEEEEEEEEE.We are just deciding to go straight hard for these last few days that we have together and we just need to baptize one more this week so that we can get out goal for our companionship!! We just don't know who.... But I believe in miracles... We had District meeting in President Brough's house ttoday....talk about pressure packed workshop that I had to give... but it went well. It was so cool to just be in there and have fun and laugh out butts off with President and Hermana Brough. We had a lot of fun and the Sister Brough made us lunch and it was the best thing in the world. Gus would have been jealous haha ribs and potatoes. KILLLLLLLAAAAAA. We baptized again this week!!! We are being super super blessed right now and hpe to baptize this week. We have some good options and we are hoping that it can happen. Just have to be obedient and dilligent and the miracles can happen! In the family that got baptized a couple weeks ago they have a little kid that is like 1 and a half and it is so awesome when we go to visit them and we start the prayer. We have got them used to praying on their knees and so that every time we end the lesson they just get down on their knees and just start to pray. It's great. Well that was great but it gets better....the little kid now FORCES us to get down on out knees for every single prayer that we say. It is so awesome haha he like screams until we are down on our knees. I love it. I'm getting really happy about me knowledge of the country too. I pretty much know how to get anywhere in the mission and it is so cool to just know what bus to get on and where it is going to take me. Just cool. Right?
We are going to have a big change in the district. They are doing to take out two of the Elders and then they are putting in two sisters in their place. I'm excited but nervous at the same time haha. I don't know how that is going to go but I'm sure it will be great. The sisters normally bring a Spirt that the Elderrs can't haha. Who knows right? We're just loving life out here. Having a lot of fun and working our booties off. It's nice to have success haha. I'm feeling good right not but not really satisfied haha. Hoping that December can be better than November! I love you guys!!!! Thanks for everything!!!!!!! Have a great week!!

November 26, 2013 Hi everyone..... Well this weeek was another week of dreams haha. Me and Elder Hintze are being so blessed right now haha it's ridiculous. I'M LOVING IT!!! We've baptized 3 weeks in a row and we're looking at finishing up the change with baptisms every week here on out. Pray for it!!!!! We baptized the sweetest 85 year old lady that you can even imagine haha. She is named Aurora and she is so awesome. She is like the cutest little miracle that I've had on my mission. We found her like 2 and a half weeks ago and just said to us, "I've been wanting to go to your church I just didn't know how to get there." Three Sundays later....DUNK!!!! It only took Elder Hintze 4 times to get her down too!!1 KILLER!!!!! Great one there. We went to the temple this week too. We saw the new video and just sat there in SHOCK AND AWE!!!!!!! First of all I hadn't seen any good entertainment for like 14 months and then that???? I loved it so much. For Christmas we are going back and it is going to be so awesome. I love the temple. The peace that is there is amazing. Now I can go through without any help in spanish and english. Pretty awesome. The other picture that i sent is of the volcano Pacaya. It is spewing lava all the time and there is smoke coming out all the time. It's so cool to see all that stuff. There are 4 volcanoes that we can see just by looking out out door. We are right at the foot of Volcano Agua. Super cool. It's so nice to be with Elder Hintze. I think we are only going to have 2 more weeks together. But we've worked hard and had a ton of super fun times. It's crayz that we are companions haha. I love it. We had a Stake Conference yesterday and didn't expect very many investigators to go but we ended up having 9 and 2 families. It was a huge blessing. It was a stake General Conference with Pres. Eyring, Elder Scott, Elder Fallabella and Sister Wixom. Sister wixom was talking about how she had come down here a few years ago and she just described how she saw the people and how she saw the ladies with their kids in their baby pouches and their dresses from here and just was talking about the people here and I just started crying like a little baby. I couldn't even help it and it was the first time for a while that I really lost it like that. I love this country and I love these people. It is amazing how one can develop such a love for something. I love this work and am so thankful to be here. I love you all and am so thankful for you and all you do for me. Thanksgiving is going to be great for everyone. Me and Elder Hintze already celebrated because we though it was this Thursday that just passed..... retards right? I love you all! Have a great week!!!!!!!!!!!

OOOOOiiiii

October 19, 2013

Hi everyone.....

This week was FILLED with learning experiences. Great week but a little bit hard at the same time. Super blessed and I am loving this place. I LOVE GUATE.

We're being so blessed right now. We are baptizing a lot lately and it is going super well. Lots of success in the district and it is so nice to just be blessed. We're finally seeing the blessings of our obedience and our dilligence.

We had interviews with President Brough this morning and that was so amazing. Stuff had happened this week that was pretty crazy here and I just loved getting the love from President this morning after a tough week.

We are going to the temple tomorrow and I am SOOOOOOO STOKED for that. I love the temple so much and I wish we could go more often. I feel like the temple is a refuge house from the outside world and as missionaries, we really aren't in the real world. I think that that is the reason that we don't go very often, because we are very watched over and very protected.

We baptized the niece of the Family R this Sunday and that was great. Great baptismal service and we were blessed to get that done. Now we're working on the mom. She loves everything about the church and knows all of it is true, just needs to get thrown into the water. We'll try and get it done before Elder Hintze peaces out.

A bird pooped on Elder Hintze's shirt the other day and that was so awesome too haha. He walked around the whole day with all the poop on his shirt. That's true courage. He is way sick right now haha got the major boo. It should be a good day of work. I'm going to enforce the toilet paper lined in the garments that dad taught me for this day hahahahaha.

We're almost at our goal for the district for baptisms and for our companionship. LOVIN IT. We didn't go to President's house this week. We go on the third of December (can't believe we're almost in December) and we have to have district meeting in his house. Which means I'm in charge with the big boss. That should be interesting haha. Pray for me.

Don't worry about me having fun haha. I work hard be I do have fun too. I don't know what I would do if we couldn't have fun. Don't you worry haha we're having fun.

I'm working on trying to get back to everyone that writes me. I still have a couple more and now that I have a post office in the area, I can get stuff to you guys faster. Like two weeks. I'm trying to write every P day to someone that I haven't written that has written me. Just be patient and I'll get to you!!!

Thanks for everything! I love you all so much! HAve a good week and we'll see you next week!!!!!! LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

November 12, 2013

Hi everyone.....

THIS WEEK WAS AWESOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEE. We got the familia R down into the water!!!!!! YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!! So great. I will tell more about that story a little bit later. We were the most successful district in the mission this week and so we are going to have district meeting with President in his house and he will be giving us lunch!!!!!!!!!! SOOOOOO STOKEDDDDDDDD. Great week. Very blessed.

I liked what you told me mom about how God loves us no matter what we do. I totally believe that. But I do believe that as we are obedient and as we do all we can in our hands to do all we can, we are more blessed. I feel like if we do everything that we can do that is actually within our hands, we will be blessed. Maybe I can't control the amout of baptisms that I have in the mission but I can control how dilligent I am and how obedient I am. I can control how blessed I am too. I love that about our Heavenly Father. He always will bless us according to our obedience and dilligence. Not according to our success. He controls our success and knows what our numbers are going to be before we even came to this earth. We have our agency and we can choose for ourselves what we want to do, but let's just do it the right way and let's be blessed! LOVE IT!!

Well we had a scare with the familia R this weekend haha. Baptisms are just not allowed to go smoothly haha. Satan is a rascal. The lady totally started her period on Saturday night and I was like "are you freaking serious????" COME ON MAN!!!!!! But we went to their house in the morning on Sunday and talked to her and gave her a blessing and then once we got them in the church, I knew it was done. I've learned a lot about how Satan works in the mission. He always starts by trying to get us to doubt the things we know. Like President Uchtdorf said, "Doubt your doubts, don't doubt your faith!" LOVE IT!!!

One of the most blessed weeks in the mission. I now know why me and Elder Hintze are still together. We are seeing a lot of out little puzzle pieces come together nicely and it loooks like we are going to see the fruits of our work together. He is a great companion and a great missionary. He really just gets it done and I love it. Good to be in white this Sunday together.

I love this Gospel. It's the best thing in the world. I am so thankful to have been born into it and have known it all my life. Awesome leaders that helped me do the things I needed to. Awesome bishops that helped me get it on track and get my butt out here. Awesome friends that always lifted me up and helped me be a good dude. Awesome parents that always helped me keep it on track. An awesome little brother that is always watching over me as I am obedient. That's why I'm obedient, because if I'm not, Gabe can't be with me as much as I need him. I love you all!!! Thanks for everything you have done for me and what you still do for me!!!!

OOOOiiiiiiiii...NEL

November 5, 2013

Hi everyone.....

First of all, I'd just like to get it out there and say it. Don't want to offend anyone either.....I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT ME GOING HOME!!!! Not where I'm going to live of what's going to happen or where I'm going to school or what kind of food I'm going to eat or where I'm going to do whatever haha. I don't want to be mean or anything and I know that you guys don't do it because you want to, it's just that I just don't like to think about going home haha. I hate to think about my time in the mission. I hate thinking about going home haha. Not that I hate home, just that I don't like to talk about it to much. Sorry for the harsh words but I had to get out there and say it. I love you all so much. I will never come home.

QUESTION TIME

1.how much cooler than Esquintla in Palin?  Different from the cap? It's pertty hot during the day but it cools down quite a bit in the night. It actually gets a tit bit nipply in the nights. BOOM!
2.  Do you ever play soccer with the kids in the street? No not ever haha. That's something that is super frowned upon here in the mission central. I always want to haha but I don't feel like I'd be being dilligent...
3.  Are you playing a little B-ball? Yeah a tiny tiny bit haha. Elder Hintze always wants to and I do too but we can't go and shoot at the church in the morning for exercise. That sucks haha.
4.  How are your shoes holding up? I don't want to get new shoes haha I just want these ones that I came with to be so wrecked when I get home haha. They are actually holding up well. I'm surprised of the performance haha.
5.  Needs for package with Hermana Brown? I was thinking maybe a couple shirts more. But way smaller size! They are drowning me and I had to take them to a sewer to get them sewed and changed. I haven't gotten that fat!
6.  Have you ever "conseguired" one of those "en esta hogar, somos Catolicos" signs.  If not, let that be a goal. I WILL GET ON THAT. I love crap like that in this country
7.  How do you make all of your contacts?  What counts as a contact? We just talk to everyone. We get in the busses and talk in front and ask the people for their addresses and that is something really cool. Helps a lot. We have to do certain things so that it counts for a contact. Teach a principal, testify, and then invite them to do something (address, go to church, family home evening in their house) and then they have to give us an answer. That's about it haha.
8.  How can my class members overcome their fear of "abriendose la boca" when it comes to sharing the gospel"? Just read them D&C 60 verse 2 and then read them also verse 7. When we open our mouths, we are forgiven of our sins. SICK
9.  Cebollines is overrated, no? I don't know if I have tried them,.... I'm sure but I don't know...

I got my package with the heatt shirt by the way!!!!! WHOOOOOO LOVED IT. Especially the letters. Always the best part.

WELLLLL This week was awesome. One of the best work weeks I've had on the mission. We worked hard and we were blessed with a bunch of miracles this Sunday.

We were sitting in Sunday in church and no one was coming haha The R family wasn't going to go to church because they had to take their kid to the hospital and that sucked haha. We had a couple in when the meeting started and we were like COME ON MAN!!!! Then right as the meeting started, the miracles started. The investigators came in like a freaking flood!! It was the most amazing sight ever. Then at like 9:30 the biggest surprise of them all, The Familia R walked in and we were like WHAAAAAAAAA. It was awesome. I guess the wife was like I'll take the kid the the hospital tomorrow and let's go to church. They went and in that night we got them ready for their baptism this weekend. PLEASE PRAY FOR THEM!!!! The most amazing Sunday ever. We ended up having 13 investigators in church and It's looking like it's going to be a good change. Just hoping and praying and seeing what the will of God is. LOVE IT!!!

I love Sipacate...
I see the busses that go to Sipa every day and I just want to jump on and go back.

Great week this week and we're hoping for more to come!!! Jus praying like crazies to have this stuff happen. I also saw a baby go from breast feed to throw up in 3.5 seconds. Beat that record any missionary in the world. GUATEMALA IS AWESOME. Crazy stuff goes down.

I love you all so much and am so happy and thankful for the support that you all give me. I just hope that everyone is doing wihat they need to do and getting it done so that they can obligate our Lord to bless them. D&C 82:10!!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!

Dad.... Do you speak mostly in Usted, Tu Or Vos when you speak spanish? I really want to know what the sich is. LOVE YOUUUUUUU

NOS QUEDAMOS JUNTITOS BABBBBYYYYY NELLLLLL

October 29, 2013

hI EVERYONE......

This week was totally a week of mostly downs and a couple ups but whatever haha that's how the Lord wants it sometimes I guess.

I guess I'll start off with the good news. ME AND ELDER HINTZE ARE STAYING TOGETHER FOR ONE MORE CHANGE BABBYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!! We were sooooo ready to have changes. I was so sure that he was out haha. The Zone Leaders called us and told us and I thought they were totally joking but no we're together till Nivvy November baby!!! And we baptized Gloria and that was so great. A dang good baptism. A little more about that in continuation.

I totally was frizzy frazzled all week this week haha. We had so many things going on and a lot of things that didn't work. The familia Real couldn't get into the agua this week because the sister drank coffee. But we're not too worried about them because they are going to get baptized. Super awesome family. We totally had a HUGE surprise with Hector and his interview. I guess he had killed two people with intention like 40 years ago so he couldn't do it this weekend. He has to have a huge process of coming to church and an interview with Presidente Brough and then the ultimate decision has to come from Presidente Monson! Crazy process and pretty hard to see. He was super sad. But he'll be able to do it in like 5 months or so. Super tough and frustrating but those things just happen and there's nothing you can do about it. Still keeping our heads up and working super hard. SO STOKED TO BE TOGETHER STILL!!!! We keep just looking to eachother and saying, "wait, you're still my companion?" LOVE IT YOMO

The baptism of Gloria was one of the best/funniest thing ever. A member named Baudilio got to baptize her and it was awesome because he was so dang stoked to do and super grateful to be able to do it. Gloria was so excited that she was crying and so happy haha it was awesome. So right before they get into the water, Baudilio explained everything to her and told her that they were going to say a little prayer and then he was going to dunk her with force. So she gets into the water and the water was FREEEEEEZZZZING and she was freaking out haha. She calmed down a little bit and got it calmed. Right as Baudilio was about to start it all, Gloria plugged her nose and started like screaming "SEÑOR JESUS PADRE CELESTIAL" and a bunch of stuff like that and then she just started to dunk herself. SHE TRIED TO BAPTIZE HERSELF HAHAHAHAAH. It was literally the funniest thing I've ever seen. Baudilio was there like "What the heck is happening" Me and Elder Hintze were just laughing our butts off and luckily she didn't go down all the way hahahaha It was so great. She totally killed it. I just love her. So great.

We totally got haircuts yesterday and that was super Bad Attitude . We're not super worried about the people because we are going to have a really good change this time around. We have a lot of people that could get it done and we're super excited. LOVE THE WORK BABBBBBBYYYYYY. Thanks for all the support from everyone and keep us in your prayers! Have a great week. I LOVE YOU!!!!!

Questions.....

Does Guat celebrate Halloween? Yeah a little bit. It is looked at like a Satan worshiping thing so it is always really frowned upon haha. The religions are so weird down here. No dancing, no makeup, no parties, no nothing haha Crazies. But crazies that I love.

NELLLLLLLLL!!!!

October 22, 2013

Hello everyone......

Me and Elder Hintze's sick Guatemalan swag

Got my package!

making fun of all the missionaries that feel like they have to have a Book of Mormon in their hands in every picture that they take with my little bit of YOMO flavor

how I like to put the youngest of his family to work so that he can learn the real way of life. I give him so much crap about being the youngest in his family LOLOLOLOL

The pictures are of Mine and Elder Hintze's SICK Guatemala SWAG backpacks. LOVIN IT and we killed it too with my new YOMO shirt!!! LOVE IT SO MUCH

This week was a total week of miracles!!! I had my best Sunday in the whole mission with just literally everything going right and God just blessed us super hard core. Great week for sure.

In the district this Sunday that is coming up we should have 10 baptisms! That's crazy! God has blessed us so much in this week with just everything that we have needed. We are 6 missionaries here in the district and we are hoping that we can be blessed enough to just be able to get it done. I need you to pray hard core for Ada and Eyner, Gloria, and Hector. It could be a great day in white for us and we are hoping that it happens. I know it will if we just have faith and are dilligent and obedient!!

I got the package in PERFECT timing because I'm almost out of contact solution. I love getting stuff in mail. At the beginnning of the mission I got stuff all the time and it was so great but now I don't get as much but when I get something, I love it so much haha. So THANK YOU for that. I LOVE YOU! The YOMO shirt for sure took the cake and I sport it every night haha. Everyone that has seen it is totally jealous, namely Elder Hintze. No one else has seen it haha.

I've been so thankful for the opportunity that I have to have been with Elder Hintze. I can't believe that we almost have changes haha. It has gone by so freaking fast!! I hope that i can train again. I love it so much and it is such a great trust from Heavenly Father and from the mission president. Gotta start those little babies off right! We always talk about how awesome it would be to stay here together but we kind of know it won't happen haha. It would be cool.

I studied a lot about Charity this week. One sweet thing that I learned was that Jesus didn't baptize one person but he had charity and so it didn't matter. I love 1 Corinthians chapter 13 about charity. It is so awesome that we are literally nothing if we don't love. Even if we have literally everything else, but not charity, we can't be saved. I LOVE THAT. I feel like it is something that all of us have to work on so that we can be saved haha. I think it is something that can help me to be more humble as I try to do my best to just have more love for the people here, my companion and the other missionaries that I serve. Great week of everything.

I love you all!!! Thank you all for the support and everything you do for me. Keep throwin up those prayers so that we can see this MILAGRON this weekend!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

CHILERRRRRROOOOOOOOOO Me extraña

October 15, 2013

It's ja boi Edgar. Love this dude!

Hi everyone..... We had 386 contacts and 128 of them were families.... Oh wait you're not President Brough.....LOL not

Well we had an awesome week this week! Only one baptism but it was the best baptism ever!!!! We baptized out little cholito Edgar after he had dropped every addiction that he had! It was so amazing! You will have pictures at continuation that i will help describe the story. There wasn't water at the church and so me and the ward mission leader had to get it done with buckets hahahaha WE FILLED THE PILA WITH BUCKETS!!!!! YOMO Number 1. We went to pick Edgar up in the morning and he was way scared and almost didn't want to do it. But we talked him out of it and he came with us. As we walked to the church he started to sing "Still D.R.E." By Doctor DRE and Snoop Dogg and let me tell you that it wasn't the edited version hahahahahaha YOMO number 2.

It's ja boi Edgar!  Love this dude!
Then in the baptism he ws posing like a straight G for some pictures outside of the font. This guys the most awesome dude ever! YOMO for days. It really was one of the most spiritual baptisms ever and so dang rewarding. We worked so hard with him to get him to that point. Just an awesome experience for us.

Filling up the font with buckets

We have this investigator that is named Gloria and she is so funny haha she went to church and she loved it. She'll be baptized on the 27th. We're looking to have a HUGE 27th. The best thing about Gloria is that when I see her, she always reminds me of Kristin Wigs skit of SNL when she has the baby hand and loves chasing cars hahahaha. Gloria has little baby hand like that and it is so dang funny. I always think of mom and Chode when I see here " AND I LIKE CHASING CARS"

We are working really hard and it looks like wer are set up really nicely for the 27th. Just keep praying for us and I know that we will be blessed with these miracles.

Yesterday we got to play some real basketball with people that actually know how to play and can I just tell you right now, I loved it! It ws so dang fun. I didn't realized how much I love basketball and how much I missed it until yesterday. I'm SO sore though. Getting old sucks right?

I've been thinking about the one thing that is holding me back in being a better servant of Jesus and I've come to the conclusion that the thing I need to work on a little bit more is humility. I feel like everyone that knows me, knows that I'm not the most humble person ever. I've gotten a lot better in the mission as the time has gone by but I know I can do more. Just help me out maybe with some ideas about how I can make myself a little bit more humble. Thanks!

I loved that talk by Russell M Nelson about how we need to treat our  bodies well. I've noticed that a lot down here. We will pay for every single harm that we do to our bodies here on this earth.

Thanks for all that you do for me!!! I love you so much and the support is great. Have a great week!!!!

OOOOOOOOiiiiiii General Conference Edition....HUH?

October 8, 2013

Hi everyone....

This week was AWESOME!!!!!!!! Except for the fact that I rolled my freaking ankle AGAIN! I seriously couldn't believe it haha I was just laughing that time. GREAT WEEK.

Here come the questions.....

1.  Did your investigators go to conference? Yeah we actually had a great turnout of investigators in church. The worst was that we have a family of 7 that was ready to go and ready to love it and so we sent some members to pick them up in their car and of course, the dad sent his kid to see if they were ready and the kid only saw that the door was closed and that they weren't there, little did he know was that they were inside waiting for them to get there!!!! AHHHHHHHH!! Now I know how mom felt when she would tell us what to do and then we just sucked it up haha. Oh man.
2.  How's Hintze's Spanish? It's good. The good thing is that he understands a lot. It's nice because I don't have to explain to him what's going on but he doesn't talk as well as he understands and that frustrates him a lot.
3.  Tell Hintze we're sending him a shirt.
4.  Who are your best investigators? Edgar, Hector, and a Family.
5.  Did you land in your new house? Yeah. Yesterday we moved and it's so much better. We woke up at 3 yesterday and today at 4 and I'm dying hahahaha but it was worth it.  Even though there is no hot water....
6.  Did you find a new cocinera?  We just have a bunch of random ladies that give us food for free every day and that's way nice.
7.  Did Diaz go home yet? No he goes home in January haha it seems like I'm right behind him...
8.  What do you need down there? I don't know haha. I just want some good candy haha. More than anything. There is nothing good here sweet haha. I've resorted to eating Halls cough drops for the sweet flavor of deliciousness. Sad right?

Well the pictures say it all. My gangster former drug addict investigator that will be baptized this Sunday, gave me that sick Tupac Shakur shirt because he thinks I'm in the rap game. He's so sick. And I wrecked Elder Hintze one day and he was out cold on his bed at like 10 with his misison clothes on hahaha YESSSSS.

First of all, How Great was Conference???? LOVED IT! I was talking with Elder Hintze on Sunday morning about how Elder Scott's talks always seem to give me the snoozes, sorry but it's true, and the on Sunday morning he blew me out of the water with my favorite talk of the Conference. I loved it so much. And I got the hear the translation in Spanish and he did his own overvoice. So sick! We saw it in Elnglish but we had the spanish voice overhead. Kind of annoying but whatever. Pregunteme si me importa. I loved it though. I am also digging hard core the Les Miserables shout outs in the Conference. Where is that coming from? I don't know but I like it. Elder Uchtdorf's talk about getting up was so awesome. President Monson's talk in Priesthoood was so awesome about Home Teaching. I'm so glad that I don't have to learn those lessons because I have a dad that taught me to do my home teaching every month and how to do it right. Love It! I think my talk that just got me so pumped with Elder Gifford Nielson. He totally lit the place on fire!!!! I loved when he said, "If we really love our family members and friends, why wouldn't we share our testimonies with them?" What would you do if the Prophet called you, Oh wait he already did! LOVE IT!!  President Eyring's talk reminded me a lot of mom and dad. Super cool. When Elder Holland was talking I couldn't help thinking about Cody Peterson. That kid is such a stud and such an inspiration. Elder Christofferson went hard too. I am starting to love all of his talks. It was an awesome Conference. Maybe I'll be able to stay here for a 5th. (cross the fingers.)

We're doing well with our investigators. I feel like in these weeks that are coming, there are going to be alot of fruits. We are working hard and trying to just do everything in a good way so that we can be blessed with these miracles. This area is really cool and I'm super blessed to be here and to be able to be serving these peaple.

We were walking home one night when Elder Hintze had boo and that was the funniest thing in the whole world. He was literally dying. He was sweating and freaking out and crying like a little baby. We were about to go home so that he could get it done and I was like nope, one lesson more it's not 9 o'clock yet hahaha. So we had the lesson and the Elder Hintze went off just sprinting after the prayer that he said in like 5 seconds. It was AWESOME!!!!!

Keep praying for us so that we can see these miracles happen. It is going to be good in these next couple weeks and I'm hoping that we can just get it done! I love you all!!!!!

OOOOOOiiiiii!

October 1, 2013

Hi everyone...

This week was another great week of a bunch of straight bendiciones. Loved IT!!!!!!!! I'll answer the questions first....

1.  Had Elder Hintze been in the area before? Yeah he had been here for one change already. But doesn't know it super well haha we get lost all the time.
2.  Are you his first comp in the field? No I'm his second papa out here. His other trainer just went up to zone leader. That's actually pretty common that that happens here just 2 trainers for your first 2 changes.
3.  How big is the ward, and when does it start? There are like 250 that go every week and it is actually really big. We start at 9 this time and it is the best thing in the whole world. Way better than 7: 30
4.  Are the members helpful? The members are so dang  awesome. That's why this area is like really really famous for baptizing.
5.  Did you find a new place to liv and a nueva cocinera? Yeah we got a new house and we'll be moving in on next Monday Primero Dios ba que si?
6.  Is your new comp holding up to your schedule?  He's doing great. He is a stud and has like a foot on my and so he can keep up with me...most of the time. ;)
7.  GET AN UMBRELLA, CABEZA DE HUESO!!!!!!!! YAAAA DEJAME EN PAZ PUCHIS HOMBRE
8.  DO you walk everywhere or do you get bikes at all? Oh gosh hahaha Bikes?? ni modo ba? JAMAS. I would kill for a bike haha. That won't happen. We walk everywhere. Even though there are busses I like to walk to the farther parts. That's something that Elder Hintze isn't used to and I love it haha.
9.  Is Hintze a larrrjj (said like guat) or an estra larjjjj (said like Guat)?  XL I think he's only like 8 feet tall haha
10.  Does your zone ever get together and go anywhere on P-day like Antigua or Atitlan?  Or even Amatitlan? I've never been to Antigua haha that sucks way bad. i want to go way bad. I've been to Atitlan and that was sweet. Normally we just get together and go hard with some futbol and pizza.

Well I'm gonna start this one off with a great funny experience..... Yesterday we were walking down the street killing it as usual and I was walking tranquilo. Elder Hintze was behind me and it was dark on this like really busy main road in the area. On the side of the road there was like a little drop off kind of like a curb but not with a hard edge like that. Kind of like a lifted road. But we're walking at going good until my AWESOME ankles just totally make me eat it so hard. I rolled my right ankle so freaking hard and then tried to catch myself with my left and rolled it too hahaha and just ate it so dang hard and almost fell right on my face hahaha it was so dang funny and it hurt so dang bad. I'm just lucky no cars were coming or else they would have totally ran me over hahaha. I crawled to the side of the street and sat down over there and Elder hintze was laughing his butt off. I don't  blame him at all because if I wasnt' in horrible pain, I would have died laughing hahaha. He said that he thought that i feel right on my face and he was like OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH. I seriously wish I would have videoed it because it was like slow mo horrible crap. It was a total momento tonto. RETARD. Now my ankles are swollen and I'm hobbling around like a freak. GUATEMALA SWAG.

Well we baptized this weekend and that was a straight miracle! We worked so dang hard for that baptism and it totally paid off. I was so happy and I guess they are killing it in El Carmen too. It feels so good to know that we are going to have some good success here. We have a kid named Edgar that is 25 and he is literally dropping everything to get baptized. Drugs, alcohol, smoking, coffee haha he is so awesome. He is like a straight gangster and just gets that money reading the Book of Mormon. He talks SOOOOO much slang from here and Elder Hintze has no idea what is going on and it's so dang funny. I love it!! We also have a guy that is named Hector that all we need to do is get him married so taht he can get him baptized. The wedding will be on the 12th and the baptism on the 13th. Another family named the Hernandez family. They just need to get married but they came to church this week and are really excited and jsut want to get baptized. We also have a family of like 5 named the Real family that are looking soooo positive. They want to go to General Conference this weekend and that will be great. We'll see what we can do!! That's pretty much it for right now.... PRAY FOR THEM!

I love being with Elder Hintze haha. It is a little hard at times but I feel like we are doing really well at keeping ourselves focused on what we're doing. I LOVE looking at him in lessons and him just looking at me like "what the heck is going on? What do you want me to say?" Then I jus

t tell him to bear his testimony and it's all good. i think that one of the hardest things is just not calling him Doug haha. We just really can't believe that we are together and I think that's how it's going to be for a while. Just so weird to talk about someone or something from home and he literally knows what it is. We're really getting along well and it will be a good month this month. They all think we're some kind of freaks haha it's so dang funny to see the looks of the peoples faces seeing their first and second gringo of their live at the same time. We're killing it. Just got haircuts yesterday. Stoked to get into the new house.

I'm ridiculously excited for General Conference. It is going to be an awesome opportunity to get investigators to come to church and see what we're all about. I'm stoked to be able to hear the prophet. I can't believe that it is my 3rd in the mission field haha one more and I'll be at red iguana eating what will for me be a crappy carnita haha. I'm loving life out here. It's not too hot and not too cold. Stopped raining a little bit and now it's supposed to clear up. My ankles are like baseballs but ¿Que me importa? I love this place!!!!! HAve a great week this week and keep me in your prayers!!!!!!!!!!
